So, most of my friends don't blog much anymore. Even I have had long stretches without a post. And I see all this as a good thing, because it isn't that our poor bloggers are being ignored. It means that we are all doing things, and in doing them, find ourselves without time and inclination to write about them. I, for example, only have this time now because I am procrastinating the last bit of my day, namely, either riding my bike to Lara's or having her come pick me up as a break from her homework. I was working on my February calendar of "things I could be doing besides staying home."

Just to let you know, tomorrow, I'm running around to find local (i.e. downtown) places that I could potentially rent for dance space to teach private lessons. I'm also going to hang out with Megan, and we were talking about making a towering peanut butter sandwich and attempted to eat it. Yes, we're weird. Then after work, I'm going to ride my bike through the cold to the dance club salsa class, which was very popular last week. Wednesday is boring double shift. Then on thursday, Lara and I (and hopefully some of our dance club friends) are going to see a show called Tango Pasión, a two-hour tango performance. I don't know any details except that the musician is well-praised. Afterward, we'll be teaching a tango class at Ringling. Wish us luck in getting a lot of people, because we're going to be skipping a live swing band in tampa for it. Friday, we have the tango class at Sara Dance, and then we're going to Island Time Grill to dance to the Venturas again. Last friday, after our first dance, we were approached by people asking if we taught and if they could get our number. We also befriended the band, and hopefully we can entice more friends to meet us there. Saturday I work a double shift, and Lara will spend a good chunk of time working and another good chunk of time partying with friends. Then on Sunday, we're going out to tampa for an amazing swing dance. Last time we went, we both spent the whole time running around asking people to dance and getting asked to dance and having a blast. We expect the same this time. And then Wednesday morning, we fly out for Colorado, so monday and tuesday will be spent preparing for the trip and getting work done, so that we won't have to do work on the trip.

Ok, gotta go blogger. As you can see, I don't sit still for long. And when I do, I'm reading or writing...and not here. Au revoir, until again.

Hello, blogger. It's been a while. I found in a link sent by a friend, who participated in the March for Life recently, and thought I'd post it:

I had the privilege of hearing Senator Brownback speak at the Bloggers for Life Conference I attended before the march. He touched on almost every aspect of the Pro-Life debate, including prenatal screening tests, stem cell research, euthanasia. As he said, the abortion debate boils down to this: Is the youngest of humans a person or property? Under our system of government, everything is one or the other. "Throughout the history of mankind, when we have one class of people as less than another, we have regretted it." Referring to the shameful days when African Americans were counted as 3/5 a person.

I thought that would be a good slogan. "Are infants people or property?"

Anyway, life is going well. I've been working a lot, but I just put in my two-weeks notice for my evening job. I need to dance more, so that I can actually make a career out of it. Next, I need to find a job during the day monday through friday that will pay me enough to keep my life going upward. And I'm writing a lot, despite work. I've been working on a short story during free times at work, and I'm still working on my book, and I just finished a poem for Lara, and I'm reading several things, including the essays at the beginning of an antique rhyming dictionary (yum!)

I leave for Colorado in a week and a half, and I can't wait! One day of skiing and a bunch of days of visiting Lara's friends and hitting up her favorite dance venues. Yay!

Also, I made a new friend. Megan, who works at Two Senoritas, is a photographer, model, and fashion designer with bartending experience from NYC, and the strangest sense of fun I've met in a long time. For example: there are trees near her house with vines, and she was swinging from the vines and bruised herself up hitting trees. And she went to the beach in a bikini and gorilla mask, just for kicks. And when asked out by one of my sketchy coworkers, she totally rejected him because he's "old and boring". After a meeting at work yesterday, Lara, Chris, Megan and I went out for food, and they totally all got along. So yay for new friends!

I can't wait to go dancing, in about an hour and a half. I need to get other stuff done, so I'll talk to you laters, blogger. Au revoir, until again.
